Honey

Natural Honey Carefully Harvested in Provence - The Character Nectar

Honey and bees

Honey is an exceptional naturel product produced by bees from flower nectar.

A true concentrate of flavors, honey has been appreciated since Antiquity for its unique taste, delicate aromas and smooth indulgent texture.

Appreciated both in cooking and in ancient traditions, honey is a must-have for lovers of wholesome and authentic products.

It reflects a balanced ecosystem and the meticulous work of bees.

Behind every drop of honey lies a fascinating organization and a unique natural alchemy.

Bees live in perfectly structured colonies within the hive where each individual plays a role :

       - The queen is the only breeder in the colony. She lays up to 2,000 eggs per day and can live for several years.

       - Worker bees are responsible for pollination, nectar collection, honey production, hive maintenance, and colony protection. Their lifespan varies from a few weeks to a few months.

       - Drones are males whose sole mission is to fertilize a queen before disappearing.

Honey Manufacturing Process

       - Nectar is collected by bees that forage on flowers and suck up the nectar using their proboscises.

       - Nectar transformation occurs when it is stored in the bee's crop (located in the upper part of the abdomen, just below the mouth), where enzymes transform complex sugars into simpler sugars.

       - The mutation occurs when the honey is deposited in the cells and ventilated by the bees to reduce its humidity level.

       - Capping occurs when bees seal the cells with wax to preserve the honey.
